That is not a scam — it is stated in the listing’s exclusions — but it is the single largest on-the-day charge on this route, and it changes which tour is actually cheapest.

Seasickness is worth a thought

Every itinerary here eats before the crossing to Levanzo. If anyone in your group is prone to seasickness, a full cooked lunch followed by an open-water crossing is a combination worth avoiding. The aperitif tours, or a tour that eats ashore, are the kinder option.
