About This Experience

Noleggio Gommone Trapani give you a choice most operators do not: the same itinerary on either a conventional boat or a 10-metre dinghy. That makes this the natural pick if you want the RIB experience but are travelling with someone who would rather not spend eight hours on an inflatable — you book the hull that suits the group.

The day runs 10:00 to 18:00, which is a later, more relaxed start than the 09:15–09:30 departures that dominate the route. Favignana comes first: Cala Rossa, Bue Marino, Cala Azzurra and the Cave of Lovers, then the harbour and around two hours ashore in the town, with lunch at your leisure and the crew's recommendations to go on. The afternoon crosses to Levanzo for the Faraglioni, a pass by Scalo Dogana and the village, and a final swim at Cala Minnola or Cala Fredda.

The boat holds permits to anchor inside the marine protected areas rather than merely transit them, so the swim stops are made where the water is best rather than at the edge of the reserve. Aperitifs are served twice — once in the morning before Favignana and once on the way home — with fruit and crackers, and the crew shoot photographs through the day so nobody in your group has to.

One small, unusual inclusion worth knowing about: they carry a preventive anti-jellyfish cream and hand it out at the swim stops. In an August with a bloom, that is not a gimmick.
