Trapani: Favignana & Levanzo Inflatable Boat Tour with Snorkeling

4.4 (4 verified reviews)

About This Experience

MeM boat run a twelve-seat RIB day out of Trapani with an unusually complete set of on-board comforts for an inflatable: a sun canopy, a freshwater shower for rinsing the salt off after each swim, a Bluetooth stereo, and drinks all day. If your reservation about RIBs is that they are exposed and spartan, this is the one that answers it.

The meeting point is the Trapani moorings at 09:15 for a 09:30 departure, and Favignana is about thirty minutes away. There are four swim-and-snorkel stops on the island: Cala Azzurra, Bue Marino — where the old tuff quarries make the photographs — Cala Rossa for the clearest water and the most fish, and the Grotta degli Innamorati, which is only visible from the sea and which you can go inside.

Around 13:00 the boat docks at Favignana harbour, the skippers point you at somewhere to eat, and you have time ashore. The afternoon crosses to Levanzo for Cala Dogana and Cala Minnola before the run back to Trapani.

It is a newer listing — 4 reviews at the time of writing — so it has less of a track record than the established Trapani operators. What it does have is the docking pass at Favignana and the freshwater shower, neither of which is standard on a RIB at this price.

We had an absolutely amazing time on this boat tour! We visited so many beautiful places and hidden gems along the coast. The crew provided us with snorkeling masks, which was fantastic because we could explore the underwater world. We got to swim with lots of fish and, at one point, even with some jellyfish! 😂 A huge shoutout to our captain, who was incredibly skilled and took great care of us the entire day. He kept us refreshed with drinks and prepared a delicious fresh fruit platter for us. Another highlight was visiting a stunning underwater cave that we would have never discovered on our own—it was a truly breathtaking experience. Also, during our stop in Favignana, the staff recommended an excellent restaurant where we had a wonderful lunch. Overall, it was a perfect day from start to finish. If you are looking for an unforgettable boat experience with a professional and attentive crew, look no further! We would definitely do it again.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there really a shower on a RIB?

Yes — a freshwater rinse shower, which is rare at this size of boat and makes a noticeable difference after four salt-water stops. There is also a sun canopy, so you are not exposed for eight hours.

How many snorkelling stops are there?

Four on Favignana — Cala Azzurra, Bue Marino, Cala Rossa and the Grotta degli Innamorati — plus Cala Minnola on Levanzo in the afternoon. Snorkelling gear is included.

Is lunch included?

No. Drinks are included all day, and the boat has a docking pass for Favignana harbour so you eat ashore around 13:00; the skippers will recommend somewhere.

It only has a few reviews — is that a problem?

It is a newer listing rather than a poorly-reviewed one, and the reviews it has are strong. If you want a long track record, the higher-volume Trapani operators are the safer pick; if you want the shower and the canopy, this is the trade.

What languages does the skipper speak?

Italian, English, French, Spanish and German.
